Part 2 - Build A Portfolio From Your Home

I’m not going to teach you how to approach a realtor in less you have a strong portfolio. Walking into their office with nothing to show, you’ll probably be laughed out.

Hello I’m not going to tell you to start your amazing new career by working for free. You can practice everything you need to know right from the comfort of your own home.

“But my house isn’t decorated beautifully.”

“I’m in an apartment.”

“I don’t have a lot of natural light.”

PERFECT!! You’ve just described 80% of the Homes you’ll photograph.

From wood paneling to rooms without windows - real estate properties are not always glamorous.

Don't believe me? Check out these REAL homes I've photographed...

Only 20% of the Homes I photograph end up in my portfolio, or on my social media newsfeed.

Although it might be tempting, we’re not photographing homes to publish them in Home and Gardens Magazine or for HGTV. We are photographing regular homes, but making them look amazing!

It’s time to get away from the idea of perfection. Because a huge part of this job is taking stress off of your real estate agents plate.

While you’re photographing the home, the agent can be doing other things. Such as checking on their social media profile, signing paperwork with the homeowner, returning phone calls, scheduling new bookings… Their job is endless!

Tired of making grumpy kids smile for pictures? Burned out with wedding photography? Need your weekends back? I totally get it. Why? This was me. Real estate photography has opened so many opportunities for me - and I want to share what I've learned with you too!
