Part 4 - Realistic Expectations

Let's talk about realistic expectations. I'm going to break this up into 2 sections...

Realistic Expectations Section1) I'm telling you now so you don't freak out later.

24 hour turn around time. And that includes editing.

Seriously. Don't freak out!! You've got this!!

Unlike the wedding and portrait industry, we're not shooting 2000+ images. For a 1500 sq ft house, I'm shooting around 60-90 images MAX and delivering about 15-20. For a 3500 sq ft home, I'm delivering 35-40 images.

If it takes you 30 minutes to shoot the home, it should take you about 30-45 minutes to edit the home. And again, we're only delivering a small amount of images. It's not a big deal. You're not going to freak out. Right? And if it's taking you longer than that to edit a home, you're probably doing it wrong.

But, we're ARE going to work hard to exceed expectations, and actually deliver the images by 8:00 AM the next day! It doesn't matter if we shoot the house at 10:00 AM or 5:00 PM. We're going to over impress and deliver quality images at super fast speed!

This is totally manageable! You can do this!

You'll come to find that the real estate world moves at super fast speeds. You'll even have agents who want their images back the same day.

"Ahhhh!! I need the photos now!!"

Your response?

"Perfect! I can do that, but the rate doubles."

Why? Just like your real estate agent, your time is valuable! We are setting this standard from the get-go. And if you're like me, I rarely say no when someone hands me their credit card.

Realistic Expectations Section 2)

When delivering images to your agents, we're not going to restrict file sizes!

Usually agents need these images as a high-quality images for the MLS... Or if they're printing brochures for the home. And 95% of the time, that's where the images end up.

Some agents will post images on social media - to help advertise the house. I don't charge extra for them to use the images on social media. Why? If the photos look amazing, it's free advertising for me!

I deliver all of my images through Pixiest. This FREE image hosting site allows agents to download images in three different qualities: Web, Original Size, or High Resolution. I also like how their platform is set up. I helps make my "digital presentation" look professional. BONUS! They have mobile view available as well!

**Don't have an account with them? No worries! I've got you covered! Sign up with my link to get a FREE account + extra file storage: https://pixieset.com/ref/qEPv0Mp9ev

If you have certain restrictions you want your agents to abide by, that is something that needs to be discussed before hand. For example, if you don't want your agents to sell images to a third party, post images on a billboard, or have your photos printed in a magazine... that needs to be addressed BEFORE the shoot even happens! There are contracts for real estate photography - like this one from TheLawTog.

If you're not ready to purchase a contract yet - you can always ad a "Terms and Conditions" to the invoicing system of your choice.

I'm not a lawyer, but here's what mine says:

*Images can be used for the promotion (MLS, Listing Advertisements, Social Media, etc.) of the property or yourself as the Agent. Image(s) can not be sold to a third party.

Hopefully this information has been helpful to all of you!
